TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 30th May, 2016: A Siliguri-based synthpop duo Dreamhour has just released their new single ‘Safe On Your Own’ off their upcoming EP ‘The Unfinished Story of the Unknown Band’ via Rolling Stone India. “The first single – “Safe On Your Own” – is a throwback to the well-paced, moody pop of the Eighties, with a touch of guitars and bright synth patterns. In a press release issued by Dreamhour it said Debojyoti Sanyal, the 17-year-old composer from Siliguri wrote the song in August last year, constantly retooling it until it became the perfect choice to release as the first single off his upcoming EP, The Unfinished Story of the Unknown Band.” Dreamhour started out as a solo bedroom project by 17-year-old Debojyoti Sanyal from Siliguri, back in 2012, but turned into a duo in 2016 with the addition of Gunzan Pradhan on guitars.
After a string of singles, he released his debut EP ‘Storeroom Diaries’ in 2014 which received favourable reviews and was featured in numerous blogs and zines like Pepsi MTV Indies, NME India, Synthema, etc. He released another EP in 2015 which was 3 rough demos and another mixtape in 2016 released through MTV Indies. Apart from the EPs and single, his collaboration with Swedish producer Nightcall titled ‘Dead V’ was quite an internet hit, while his track with rapper Xenon Phoenix, ‘Double Entendre’, was featured on BBC Asian Network. Also, his track with German producer Christian Baczyk, ‘Paradoxical Universe’ was used in the Die Goldene Kamera awards show in Germany. Apart from Dreamhour, Sanyal also releases music through his solo project Debo and has released an EP via Silk Music and appeared in a podcast on Anjuna Beats.
